Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 Hits Mobile Phones

Konami, the famous Japanese entertainment company, has unveiled the future release of Pro Evolution Soccer 2009 for mobile phones, which comes as a sequel of the 2008 edition of the game. Published by Glu Mobile, PES 2009 will be available starting this autumn, offering football fans the chance to enjoy the on-field excitement while on the go.

Built on the success of PES 2008 for mobiles, the new game will bring all the features of the previous one, plus many new ones. Most importantly, there will be a Bluetooth multiplayer mode, hence one-on-one matches should be easily played. Also, you will find enhanced animations, improved controls, new arenas, bonuses and so on.

iPhone 3G queue forms in Manhattan

The line for the Apple iPhone 3G began to form Friday–an entire week before the device goes on sale.

Frankly, one shouldn’t encourage such behavior by actually covering it. But if I were in Manhattan–instead of Austin, Texas–I, too, would have interviewed them in person by now.

The queue outside of Apple’s Fifth Avenue store, covered first by GearDiary and then Engadget, apparently hasn’t been formed by iPhone co-dependents, though.

iPhone 2

This picture is said to be the first that shows the actual new iPhone from Apple. Call it iPhone 2 or iPhone 3G, CrunchGear claims it’s the real thing, which not only sports
3G (really now, was there any doubt?) but also offers support for iChat. The service will allegedly be launched for Windows users too.

The tech-based web site claims the images are from a tipster who has previously leaked them solid proof of the existence of new Apple products (the third-gen iPod nano). The new iPhone, as shown in the AT&T promotional material, is slimmer (an aspect already “confirmed” by earlier rumors), it will come in different colors (no mention whether black and red are the only ones), it will sport video chatting and more.

Linux on Nokia Phone

Nokia, one of the top companies on the mobile market, might create some new Linux-based, Internet-focused devices, as the interest in such appliances is growing, Reuters is reporting. Although Linux is not widely used on cellphones, the situation is beginning to change, and Google’s Android platform is one good example of confidence
in Linux.

Linux is no stranger to Nokia, as the Finnish company has used it before on Internet tablets, devices that are similar to phones but lack the calling capability. As their name indicates, the Internet tablets are used for navigating the web from anywhere. Kari Tuutti, Nokia spokesman, said: “We will expand that range, and we believe that the role of Linux will grow.” The Internet tablets were targeted at tech-savvy consumers and used to support technologies like WiMAX.

Nokia 8800 Arte Review

Nokia’s luxurious 8.xxx series has a long history starting way back in 1996, when Nokia 8810 was launched on the market. The first high-end handset that started this series, Nokia 8810, made quite an impression by starring in “Matrix” featuring Keanu Reeves. Remember the ‘banana phone’ that Keanu used in the scene where he encountered the Agents for the first time? Well, even if the real phone didn’t slide with the help of a spring (that was added only for the movie), Nokia 8810 was one of the first handsets to feature a slider form factor. Nokia walked a long path from 1996 to 2008, and is now in position to offer one of the most expensive handset series on the market. The portfolio of this Premium series includes no less than 21 handsets of candybar and slide form. The latest addition to the series is Nokia 8800 Arte, featuring soft-slide stainless steel cover, which became the main characteristic of Nokia’s luxurious 8.xxx series.

Announced in November 2007, Nokia 8800 Arte was launched one month later, in December 2007. There are two available versions of the slider: Nokia 8800 Arte and Nokia 8800 Sapphire Arte, but both are ridiculously expensive: $1,350 USD, and $1,600 USD respectively.
